Khao Lak in Phang-Nga

      Khao Lak (Hat Khaolak) has a number of years is a popular destination for visitors to Thailand and its popularity is growing every year. How many beach destinations in the kingdom, the region has beautiful white sand beaches and crystal clear water. Although Khao Lak was one of the worst affected areas in the 2004 tsunami, a massive relief operation has returned to the area right now (April 2005) Tourism is once again operational and large hotels in the open area.


Located about 80 kilometers north of Phuket, Khao Lak is a long beach and picturesque dotted with smooth rocks. For those interested in diving and snorkeling, a Great Barrier Reef is located about one hour by boat. The beach offers a range of services for visitors - there are Internet cafes on your habit and a dispersion or bars and restaurants, although this area is certainly not as developed as similar destinations in the kingdom. A number of shops offer diving courses and trips to the Similan Islands and Suring. Khao Lak, Bang Niang as a neighbor. A small beach, Bang Niang offers less in terms of housing services, Internet cafes, etc., but it is very charming and a very relaxed atmosphere.

Getting there: Khao Lak Beach overlooking the Andaman Sea and is located about 30 km south of the city and is easily accessible from bus services Takuapa the Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok. A regular bus service leaves for Khao Lak and Takuapa Songtaews and taxis are also available for one hour trip.
